Birley Loft Conversion in Sheffield

August 1st, 2010

Planning permission has been obtained to convert this hip roof to a gable with a rear dormer to form an en-suite bedroom.

Additinal headroom has been achieved without raising the ridge, which the planners would not have allowed. This has been done by stripping out all the first floor ceilings which were generous in height and putting the new second floor at a lower level.

The steels can be seen in place and the gable has started to be constructed.

The gable conversion is now complete, with the dormer formed to the rear.

The scaffold will be taken down now and further photographs will be shown of the development, including the interior.
