Recently Finished Extensions

These before an after pictures are a great example of what can be achieved with a good architect and builders. Some of the building work has been completed by my recommended builders.

Balcony Construction in Wakefield

This large detached house in Wakefield has beautiful views across the countryside, the couple wanted somewhere to be able to sit and enjoy these views .

The balcony didn’t require planning permission as it didn’t overlook any neighbours’ property. The balcony did need to be checked by building control to make sure the support columns specified in the plans were strong enough.

Loft Conversion With Rear Dormer in Sheffield

I got planning permission to convert the loft and add a large rear dormer and two front facing roof windows to this detached house in Halfway, Sheffield.

The client wanted a pool table and space to relax with friends, there wasn’t room in the house for this as they had two young children. A loft conversion was a great way for them to gain a lot of much needed room.

The couple were really pleased with the work, there was hardly any mess in the main part of the house as the builders accessed the loft through the roof. The work was all completed in around 10 weeks, including painting and installing the T.V’s and the pool table.

Dormer Alteration in Totley, Sheffield

I obtained planning permission to alter the shape and size of the existing dormer on this detached bungalow in Totley.

As you can see from one of the pictures below, the previous dormer was so small that it served no real purpose. By increasing the size of the dormer, this client turned an unusable space in to a good sized bath and shower room.

My work took around a week to complete. This included going to the house, doing an initial survey and obtaining measurements. I had design meetings with the client then began getting the plans ready to submit in order to obtain planning permission and building control approval.

The couple were very pleased with the work which was all completed in around 8 weeks. This meant that they could move on to furnishing and decorating the bathroom. They were also happy to finally have a bathroom upstairs, making access easier and more private.

Extension in Thurgoland Near Barnsley

This stone fronted property already has a single storey side extension forming the kitchen area. Planning permission has been sought to build above this to form a new master bedroom with ensuite.

The new extension will have a pitched roof to match the main house. In addition, a sunroom is to be added to the kitchen.

Ground Floor Flat Extension in Camden, London

The owners of this ground floor flat have requested a single storey side extension to create a new lounge area. It is in the Camden conservation area so additional justification has had to be given of the design and materials to be used.
