This customer came to us to design a small single storey rear extension to fill in the existing off-shot kitchen to open up the space at the rear of the house.

During the project the customer decided on a fully open plan design and came back to us for a portal frame design. The portal frame allowed for a more fluid kitchen layout with units along the whole of the external wall.

Portal frames are not included as standard structural calculations and are quoted on a case by case basis, separate to full plans.

​

Originally the client had also specified a full glass roof on the extension, however they decided on a modern lantern light to allow as much natural light as possible in to the new space.
